Department of Animal Husbandry, Gujarat State, Gandhinagar and All Gujarat Veterinarians’ Social Security Trust (AGVSST) jointly organized one day seminar on 23.04.2023, Sunday at National Forensic Science University, Gandhinagar. This Seminar was organizedas pre-event celebration of World Veterinary Day-2023 under the theme “Promoting Diversity, Equity and Inclusiveness in the Veterinary Profession” declared by World Veterinary Association for World Veterinary Day-2023. Gujarat Veterinary Council has given Sponsorship as advertisement of Rs.50,000/-.
Hon’ble Minister of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Cow-Breeding, Rural Housing and Rural Development shri Raghavjibhai Patelpresided function and appreciated the services rendered to animals and birds by Veterinarians. He appreciated the contribution of the veterinarians in saving the livestock in the state by treating the cattle during the Lumpy Skin Disease Outbreak in 2022. Secretary Co-operation, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Cow-Breeding Shri K. M. Bhimajiyani had graced the seminar as chief guest and also acknowledged the contribution of Veterinarians in economic development of rural areas.
Dr. N. H. Kelawala,Vice Chancellor, Kamdhenu University and Dr. Falguni Thaker, Director of Animal Husbandry have graced the seminar with their valuable keynote address. Director Animal husbandry specifically appreciated the devotion of Veterinarians towards betterment of livestock owners as well as tireless and dedicated efforts put in by veterinarians invarious programmes of state government and central government.
Dr. M. K. Zala, Director of Research, Anand Agricultural University, Anand and Dr. C. G. Joshi, Director, Gujarat Biotechnology Research Centre, Gandhinagar have delivered lecture relevant to theme of World Veterinary Day-2023.
More than 600 Veterinarians of state including retired Directors of Animal Husbandry, Retired Joint/Deputy/Assistant Directors of Animal Husbandry, officers of Animal Husbandry Department, Veterinarians from Dairy cooperatives and Pharmaceutical Companies, Deans, teaching faculty and post-graduate students of veterinary colleges under Kamadhenu University as well as private practitioners have actively participated in the seminar.
